Reading/Writing/Spelling News

READING NEWS:

This week noticed when characters act in surprising ways and question why they did that. We will also learn that readers expect characters to change or grow and learn from their experiences. Finally we learned that readers k now that characters face struggles/challenges that become turning points in the story.

WRITING NEWS:

This week we learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and transferred that into a piece of writing about how you could improve yourself, your family, your community, the nation and finally your community. We also created a piece of art work to go along with our writing!

SPELLING NEWS:

Spelling words went home on Monday. Just as a reminder, these words should be going home every week, as hard copy, in your students school/home folder. (long o sound spelled ow, oa and o)

The spelling test will be on Friday.


HOMEWORK: Your child should be studying their spelling words every night as well as reading 20 minutes and recording it on their January reading log. Those reading logs will be due February 2nd.
