Reading/Writing/Spelling News

READING NEWS:

This week we will be continuing our Mixed Genre Series reading workshop lessons. We will work on noticing the problems characters face and how they deal with them to learn more. We will also look for patterns between multiple books within a series. We will finally compare how the character’s situation or problem is similar or different between stories.

WRITING NEWS:

This week we continued our writer’s workshop personal essay writing. We will learn how writers support their point of view with evidence in the form of focused short stories. We will also learn how to create essay conclusions that connect back to the point of view.

SPELLING NEWS:

Spelling this week is Double Consonants. Every child gets a hard copy of their spelling words each Monday to take home to study. Please double check to make sure that they have it in their take home folder.
