March is Reading Month Activities

As you know, March is Reading Month and here at Roosevelt Primary we have been participating in many fun reading activities. Last week we went to Mrs. Schichtel’s 1st grade class to read with a buddy. A 3rd grader got paired up with a 1st grader and spend some time reading together. It was a blast and we all owned our behavior!

We also had pajama day. Lots of fun was had when we brought in our blankets and stuffed animals and got to read with a partner!

Please continue to read with your child at home for at least 20 minutes a night.

Thanks,

-Mr. Grzesik

You can access this program at home here.

My teacher login is: igrzesik

March Reading Logs

March reading logs are going home today. The goal of our reading log is to have your child read at least 20 minutes a night and have a total of 580 minutes read at the end of the month! After your child has read their 20 minutes please have them color in that days calendar square. If you could have a designated spot for the reading log to stay, so your child knows right where it’s at, that would be wonderful.

Don’t forget, reading logs are due on April 1st. If your child completes their reading log and it is signed by both you and your child, they earn a pizza from Pizza Hut! Pretty awesome!

Here is a link to the Book It reading log page just in case yours got misplaced.

Happy Reading!

March is Reading Month Book Swap

We will be having a book swap this Friday for March is Reading Month. Please send your child with any books that they have outgrown or don’t read anymore. They will be able to swap those books for an equal amount of books that will be of more interest to them. Unfortunately, if your child doesn’t bring in any books to swap they won’t be able to get any new books.

This is a great and inexpensive way to get your child new books that they will be excited about! Please take advantage of this great opportunity!

Thanks,

Mr. Peri and Mr. Grzesik
